I have been wanting to get this suede cuff bracelet for almost a year, but I thought it might have been, well, too young for me. Not like I think I am old, oh no… of course not : ) But the bracelet I liked so much reminded me of the Goth kids with all the purple eye shadow and black manicure. I actually like those kids. 20 years ago I had green manicure and wore all black. But now, as a mother of 2… it would probably look weird if I wore it...
I was thinking all this and looking at the bracelet for the 100th time. My husband happened to stand behind me. "Nice bracelet", he said, "you should get it". So, if he thought it would be appropriate, I thought, what the heck, I will get it. And I clicked the "Add to Cart" button.
This wonderful bracelet was handmade by my friend Lena. Lena lives in Israel and makes wonderful leather belts, cuffs and broaches. There are other fun items in her Justlena store as well, such as jewelry and pet collars.
This order was a surprise for Lena, and when I told her that I thought this bracelet might not be age-appropriate for me, she pretty much laughed. She assured me that in Israel even older women would wear things like that. That did not make me happy either - I really did not feel like being associated with older women...
When I got the bracelet, I absolutely loved it. I thought it was gorgeous and I regretted badly not getting it sooner - I could have worn it last summer! But it was here now, which was great. I quickly discovered that not only it did not make me look Goth or turn me into an older woman, but it actually looked very glam :) And, as an extra bonus, it fit around my neck as a necklace!
